How do I sign up?
Register with The Park. 

 

What does it cost?
The cost is $150/person/week or $75/person/half-week .  A $50 deposit is due January 31.   Pay online or leave your payment in the offering basket labelled "Awaken The City"

 

What do we need to bring?
A packing list will be available to pick up at the church and for download as the summer approaches.

 

Do we have to have adult leaders?
Yes.  Awaken The City has interns who serve as your mission guides.  Adult leaders from our group help set expectations, communicate with students and model the way.  

 

Group size and transportation
We will plan to have a vehicle for every 6 people in our group. Awaken the City serving locations are spread out across the city.  Most serving locations can accomodate approximately 7 people, including an intern. 

 

Where will we sleep?
Hyde Park Community purchased a building in 2001 that served as a monastery for many years.  We'll sleep in rooms with twin beds and window air-conditioners.  You are responsible for bringing bedding.  Showers are located down the hall. 

 

Can families participate?
Yes.  Children ages 9-11 are welcome, and must be accompanied by a parent.  Children age 12 and up or entering 6th grade and older can have an adult other than their own parent as “ their responsible adult for the trip.”  There should be no more than 4 children assigned to each adult.
